The Warren Christian Apologetics Center is in the process of becoming a reality.  To learn more about this very exciting project, please check out the following link:

www.warrenapologeticscenter.org

I am privileged to have the opportunity of being involved in this project, and I will be able to keep you informed on the latest happenings.  Right now, the most critical need is for funding to endow the Center (the architect’s sketch is on the website).

1. “Sluggard” is not a word that we use every day.
1) Perhaps by reading from various other translations, we can get the gist of the wise man’s advice.

Go to the ant, you hater of work; give thought to her ways and be wise (Bible in Basic English).

You lazy people can learn by watching an anthill (Contemporary English Version). Read the rest of this entry »

INTRODUCTION:  Ps. 103:17-18.

1.  The burden of my lesson today is how we should understand and follow the Bible’s command to fear God.

2. Some number of years ago we went up into the CN Tower in Toronto. It was fascinating to stand on a glass floor and look 1815 feet down through it to the ground below. Read the rest of this entry »

As I was thinking of things to include in the Kids Korner, I decided to spell it a little differently just for fun.  I hope that the links provided in this brief article will be helpful and useful to our kids, as they try to (1) learn about God, Christ, the Holy Spirit, and the church; and (2) as they grow in their personal faith toward and love for our Lord. 1. Notice what Paul wrote: God demonstrates His own love . . .

INTRODUCTION:

1. One of the most popular object lessons of recent years is called “the trust fall.” I went with a group of my colleagues to a rope climbing facility, and we actually did “the trust fall.”

1) One of us would stand on a rock, a table, or an elevated surface of some sort (in our case, it was a rock). We had to be willing to fall backwards.

INTRODUCTION:      Matt. 5:17-45.

In 1990, Life Magazine published an article naming the 100 most significant individuals of the 20th century. Many of the names are familiar, but one may be new to you—Karl Menninger. You may not recognize his name unless you are a student of modern psychiatry. Dr. Menninger wrote a number of very influential books, probably none more influential to the modern consciousness than a book he wrote some 20 years ago entitled Whatever Became of Sin? Dear Friends, I have learned, through trial and error, that there are some very good Bible study programs available to you.  One of these is completely free, and merits your close examination.  It is called “E Sword.”  You may access the site and downloads at:  www.e-sword.net.  Check it out; I think that you will be quite pleased.

Slightly more than 2000 years ago, our Lord Jesus Christ was born.  He began His earthly ministry at the age of 30.  During this ministry, He promised to build His Church (Matt. 16:13-18), which was unlike the religion of the Old Testament.  It was different because it would encompass all people–both Jew and Gentile (see Mark 16:15-16; Matt. 28:18-20).  Read the rest of this entry »
